Pros: Sothink Free DHTML Menu is a professional DHTML menu builder. Building DHTML drop down or pop up menus becomes easy and there is no need for the user to know which helps web designer to create beautiful DHTML menus. It is unnecessary to be familiar with JavaScript or DHTML. Creating such menus compatible with different browsers becomes a activity that can be completed in a few minutes. The package can become an extension of Dreamweaver or an add-in to Frontpage and works seamlessly.
The user interface has several tabbed pages for settings. The general tab allows user to set menu items their vertical/horizontal layout, gaps between items, image backgrounds(tiled/not tiled), transparency and boundary line colors. All four lines can have different colors. Advanced settings lets you make a static, floating or a customized menu and sub menu settings. Effects tab sets the effects that’ll be applied and the time settings. There’s a large list of special effects. Customization by changing text, font, link, background, border style, and special effect gives a rich variety of menus that can be created. There’s a live preview window that floats and can be set conveniently in the screen space. Preview shows the menu exactly as it’d show on the web page. There are several ways the publish wizard handles the code to be generated. One straight option is to insert the code in an existing file or copy the code into HEAD and BODY parts of the page code. Other two options are to create Javscript include file and insert the code to publish the menu or view and view or copy resource file in the right directory path etc.
Cons: While usage is simple needs to have conceptual understanding of what options would create what kind of effect.
