Pros: This application is available in two versions. One is the free version that is under review. This is little limited in features whereas the pro version is full featured. Flash Decompiler Gold is a powerful and reliable flash extractor. Individual components used in a flash movie can be extracted with the help of this program. That includes images, shapes, sounds, fonts, texts, buttons, sprites, scripts, and frames from a SWF file. As a further advantage these components can be exported as FLA format. Files can be converted to SWF or EXE with a single mouse click.

With the free version, which is for evaluation mainly, Action scripts also can be extracted besides the components described above. The exported FLA data can be rebuilt into flash environment easily. It is possible to edit flash movies so that any new aspect one wants to add to a finished movie is not going to be that much of an hassle. Extracting of all elements is restricted in the free version but is available in the full version. Zoom in and out of the movie is possible so that one can identify which components are to be extracted. Replacement of images in an existing flash file could be a very useful feature. Editing of dynamic text also is possible with this application. Detailed movie information and setting of background color are couple of more useful functions. Explorer window that’s there on the interface can be set up a list of files as well as a report.
