This application running on a desktop or your notebook provides another means of wakeup alarm. Use audio or video of your choice to wake up to. For further ensure your waking up you could plug in the output to a TV or a music system!

Pros: The simple interface allows the alarm to be set up very quickly and easily. Just set up the time and select a music track or a video clip and you are done!

One could channel the audio or the video to a full-fledged music system or a TV for further effect. You could browse through your collection to set up the material you want to wake up to. This could even be something you have downloaded from music services like Trancin. You’ll need to set the volume at an effective level so that you do not bring down the roof or wake up the whole neighborhood!

Cons: The alarm can be set only at hour boundaries only. This is a major shortcoming, one should be able to set the time at least in 15 minutes increments. Repeated alarm at few minutes interval would ensure that one wakes up completely. This is not available nor is a snooze control. One could easily stop the music/video and then go back to sleep, there is nothing to ensure additional alarms. Snooze option too is not available, that too would have ensured further alarms are generated. Any of today’s devices be it the alarm radio, cell phone, PDA or other devices such features are available. There are no other features that distinguish this application.

Overall: The application has very little differentiation with other everyday devices we use for waking up in the morning. In fact it is deficient in couple of important features discussed above. Overall a rating of two stars only seems appropriate.
