SQL-RD Starter

This is a software tool that schedules and manages report generation/printing on multiple servers for MS SQL server.

SQL-RD saves time and money by allowing you to schedule and manage MS SQL Reporting Services Reports on different servers from a single application. It is easy to set up and configure. The way this operates is, it exports reports handled by the RD services to multiple printers, FTP, Secure FTP, email, folders, FAX and SMS. The tool will allow automation of a single report or a bunch of them generated by the RD services. You would be able to schedule up to 30 reports at a time. The formats of the reports could be set to any of the formats including DOC, XLS, RTF, WK, DBF, HTM, MHTM or PDF and others. That gives you quite a bit of flexibility depending on what you want to do with the data in the reports.

When scheduling the reports you are able to set the frequency at which you want the reports too. It could be daily, weekly, monthly or according to a custom calendar. Dynamic schedules provide a nice feature for linking and automating reports, data and destinations. Additional flexibility in distributing the reports comes from the ability of the tool to work with Outlook and Exchange Server. You would be able to mail out reports to recipients easily with that feature. Event triggered scheduling is also available. The interface to the tool is quite simple, but you ought to be familiar with the processes involved. So, do set aside some time for understanding the functionality, a good handy tool otherwise.
